The Backseat Driver app from Toyota

Toyota’s ToyToyota app development arm has launched at new app which is aimed at children passengers.

Backseat Driver, the first product by ToyToyota is an iPhone app which allows children to mimic the driver by driving from the backseat of the car.

The child controlling “My Car” follows “Papa Car” which mirrors the route of the real car where by the player is riding by using the iPhones GPS function.

By steering “My Car” left and right to follow “Papa’s Car” path and pick up objects where the player can score points.

The route taken can be saved so the player can look it over to see how they performed.  The points gained can be used to customise the car with the players own designs.

The designs and the route taken can then be shared on Twitter.
