Volkswagen has said that during the first six months of 2011, over 2.5 million vehicles have been successfully delivered to customers.
Compared to January 2010, this is an increase of 11.8 per cent, which is an excellent increase.
For June, Volkswagen have already reported an increase of 9.8 per cent from 399,200 in June 2010 to 435,500 in June 2011.
Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the VW Group, Christian Klinger said "The positive trend for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand in the first half of the year is very encouraging. It would be a major success if we could keep up this momentum during the second six months."

Central and European region had a 42.2 per cent increase from 64,900 to 92,300 units in the firast half of the year. In Russia, deliveries doubled from 22,400 to 45,500. This represents a 1.3 per cent increase.
In Germany, VW delivered 4.9 per cent more vehicles which is up from last year’s 287,400 to 301,700.
950,100 units were delivered to the Asia-Pacific between the months of January to June compared with 816,400 in the same period of 2010.
