Citroen LCV More Powerful

The latest Citroen Relay models are to be the most powerful LCV’s the French manufacturer has ever created.  The Euro 5 Relay 35 HDi 180 six-speed manual panel van and cabs will be on sale this month.

The new engine will replace the previous Euro 4 version and will follow on from the launch of the Euro 5 Nemo models earlier in the year.  Citroen say that the launch is part of their programme to lowering emissions across their LCV range.

The diesel unit that puts out 177bhp, 3 litre offers 12.5 per cent power increase over the old model.  The max torque remains the same at 295lbft and comes in at 1,400rpm compared to the 1,700rpm from the old engine.

If these sounds like the ideal van for your, visit your local Citroen vans Essex dealer for more information on the Euro 5.

The main change will be economy and emissions.  The manual panel van mpg is 33.2 which is 2.8mpg better than the Euro 4 engine version and CO2 emissions drop from 246 to 224g/km which is a nine per cent improvement.

Scott Michael, Citroen Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager said  “We are confident that when the complete Euro 5 Relay range is available later this year it will offer very high standards of fuel efficiency and low emissions, which will make it amongst the cleanest and greenest in its class”.

The new panel van which includes the new engine will start from £25,590 exc VAT.
