This specially made VW classic was created by Jason deCaires-Taylor, 36 from Canterbury, Kent. It was created to form part of a stunning underwater museum, Cancun, Mexico.
The creation was lowered eight meters below the water of the Manchones Reef near the Isla Maujeres.
Huge barrels were attached to the concrete car so gently sunk to the bottom while divers fixed it into place.
The VW Beetle will sit alongside other quirky sculptures such as people, buildings and even furniture that have been made by Mr deCaires-Taylor.
You can’t buy this car from your local dealer, but if you are looking for a used cars Sheffield, you have plenty of real iconic VW Beetles to choose from.
'A life size eight ton cement replica of the classic Volkswagen beetle is the latest addition.
'The sculpture is designed specifically to house marine life whilst exploring the significant impact humans have had on our planets ecosystems and the subsequent affects to future generations.
'The VW beetle or 'votcho' as it is known in Mexico is an iconic symbol and the classic shape was still in production until March 2003.
'It's rounded aerodynamic shape makes it perfectly suited to maintain stability underwater from strong currents and tropical storms.' Said Jason deCaires-Taylor.
