Ford Focus ECOnetic

This is the cleanest and greenest Ford that has ever been made.  The all new Ford Focus ECOnetic will join a line-up of ultra-low CO2 emitting hatchbacks.

The ECOnetic will have an engine that is capable of producing 105bhp which has a new injection system and a totally redesigned turbocharger combined with an enhanced cooling system and it uses friction reducing engine components.

The Durashift six-speed manual gearbox has been optimized to eliminate frictional losses by using special low friction transmission oil and has higher gearing to reduce engine speed when in top gear.

The bodywork has also been reworked to improve the overall aerodynamics of the Focus.  Undershields and deflectors have also been fitted to smoothen the airflow under the car as well as low drag wheel trims which are even more streamlined than alloy’s.

The Ford Focus ECOnetic even comes with Ford’s clever Active Grille Shutter system which closes the air intakes when less airflow is needed giving a 2% reduction on CO2 emissions.

The new Fod Focus ECOnetic will make its debut next week at the Amsterdam Motor Show and will be available in the UK from Spring 2012 as a five door hatchback and estate model.
