Starting at just £7,995 for the entry level “1” trim, it’s more expensive than the car it’s replacing, by some 11%. The top of the range 1.2 litre “3” spec car comes in at a steady £11,195.
Although the pricing of the new Kia Picanto seems a bit steep, you have to remember that you get extras such as Bluetooth, automatic air-con and electric windows front and back. Also, all the new cars are better equipped with airbags as you get six as standard.
Add the prices up for them parts individually then add them to the cost of a current Picanto and you will see you are getting a good price.
Emissions are below the 100g/km with the 1.0 version a lot cleaner than the previous car and is zero rated for road tax.
Does not paying any tax appeal to you? I thought so! Go and speak to your local Kia Kent dealer to find out more information.
It’s also a lot more powerful than the previous car by having a 68bhp engine that powers the Picanto.
If the prices right now are a little too much for you, in October, the entry prices will become cheaper with the arrival of a new three door car. Kia are planning to add a more sporty version to the range along with a range of special editions.
